Fresh produce grown locally in Broomhouse
Broomhouse Growers is a part of the Broomhouse Community Growing Association, supported by Space and Wester Hailes Growing Communities.
Located near The Broomhouse Hub, at 3 Broomhouse Place North, the garden was grown from the idea to establish a community-run market and food hub project by and for the people of Broomhouse.
The small community garden now acts as a hub for the management of several growing sites around Broomhouse, with fruit and vegetables grow in in the garden used for shared community meals and donated to good causes, such as the Community One Stop Shop food bank.
The Broomhouse Growers also include a Community Orchard, which should bear fruit in the years to come.
The group has regular volunteer sessions, open to new faces eager to learn more about growing their own produce with the help of knowledgeable and friendly community gardener, Steve.
The gardening project is great for people who like to contribute towards their local community, enjoy being out in the fresh air and getting some light exercise, and want to socialise with others in a safe and supportive environment.
Anyone is welcome to join the fun at Broomhouse Growers. Regular volunteer sessions take place on
Wednesdays & Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
