Community Group Funding Available

How would you spend between £500 and £2000 to support your local community? Space @ The Broomhouse Hub has been awarded £20,000 from the Scottish Government’s Investing in Communities Fund to distribute small grants to organisations, projects and community groups in the Broomhouse, Sighthill & Parkhead locality, extending into the wider South West Edinburgh area.

The project must fit in with one or more of the Integrated Community Fund priorities and the application should describe how you will meet this/these priorities:

  • Reducing Social Isolation
  • Improving Communication
  • Employment Opportunities
  • Supporting Families In Need
  • Community Wellbeing

Funding will cover all reasonable expenses, including rent of a building, staff or volunteer costs as well as other overheads such
as materials or refreshments. Where possible we are looking for new ideas or ideas that support services already in existence. We do not want to
replicate services that are already on offer locally; for example Space provides support for young carers, however, a specific activity to benefit young carers would be considered.

The turnaround is very tight. We recommend you read the criteria and application guidance before drafting your bid.

Application Timeline:
Deadline for applications: 5pm 27th January 2023
Evaluation and voting process: 6th-18th February 2023
Applicants notified: 24th February 2023
Any grants awarded should ideally be spent by 31st May 2023
A progress update is required in April with final report deadline 30th June 2023
