We recently held an awards ceremony to mark the end of the most recent block of our Planning Futures for Parents course. This six week programme offers Edinburgh parents the opportunity to develop their job seeking skills and learn valuable tools to help them once they are back in the workplace. The course is developed by our Training and Employability Project Worker, Hazel Lyons, and each week covers a different aspect of the working world, such as CV writing or working in a team with others.

The group took a short break following the completion of the course, but came back a few weeks later to celebrate together in The Hub. Hazel handed out certificates to everyone that attended the course, recognising a dedicated group of parents that have worked together across the six weeks to build valuable work and life skills. It has been a delight to have everyone on the course, and we wish everyone all the best in working towards the next step in their career goals, whatever that may be.
Are you a parent looking for a bit of guidance in returning to employment?
While our current Planning Futures for Parents session is already underway, the course runs multiple times throughout the year. If you’re interested in taking part, get in touch with Hazel on 0782 164 0515 or e-mail hazel.lyons@spacescot.org to find out more and apply!
