The Role

Space Training Academy is looking for an experienced employability professional to join our team.

The Progressions Support Worker will be working with parents, many of whom are new Scots or from minority ethnic backgrounds, supporting them on their journey into paid work and other development opportunities.

The main purpose of this role is to provide 1:1 sessions to parents, supporting them to create individual personalised action plans with clear goals and timelines.

This is a short term post which has been established to help the project meet funder targets between now and the end of March 2024.

The successful post holder will have experience of supporting vulnerable people into suitable opportunities, working on target driven employability programmes, and have knowledge of opportunities in the South West or wider Edinburgh area that would be suitable for the parents within our projects to move into.

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as is technical ability as there is a lot of database work involved in tracking the progress of individuals.

The post holder will work alongside two of our Training & Employability Workers as part of our PESF team in Space Training Academy.
